It’s amazing how quickly Claire develops.  I remember Chris saying that Abby would start doing something (making a cute face, a funny noise, etc.) and before they could even capture it on film, she’d stop doing it and move on to something else.  Well, Claire is the same way.  The following videos are of Claire’s “firsts.”  A few of them were planned by us and a few were random.  Enjoy!

February 18:  Claire’s first rice cereal
Obviously, this didn’t take place during the past month, but I wanted to post it anyway.  Here is Claire eating her very first non-bottled meal.  Rice cereal will never be confused with solid food (it’s akin to cream of wheat), but nonetheless it’s eaten out of a spoon and not a nipple.  The video is a bit long and unedited, so enjoy any or all of it.

March 28:  Claire’s first roll-over
At just about 6 months old, Claire rolled over for the first time.  As you can see, she used the mirror for leverage, but it still counts.  What’s funny is that she didn’t do it again until today, when she rolled over 3 times with no help at all!

March 29:  Claire’s first date (and her first eye rake)
We decided to introduce Claire to boys at an early age, so we invited her buddy Eli Warn over for a play date.  Evidently, Claire likes older men because she couldn’t stop staring at Eli, who is two months older than Claire.  Unfortunately, it seems Eli was a little bored with the younger Claire.  That is, until he realized that she had eyes that were prefect for grabbing!

April 7:  Claire bounces out of her chair for the first time
To date, this is one of the funnies things Claire has done.  She’s realized that she can make us laugh by bouncing so she does it violently.  We were lucky to get the tail end on video.  After we stopped filming, she actually bounced herself right out of the chair and onto the floor.
